Sonobudoyo Museum held a Workshop on Disability Services at the Museum. This activity was held on Zoom applications was start from 18 of August 2021 until 20 of August 2021 at 9 AM. This workshop has a different theme and discussion every day. This workshop event invited Ratna Dewi Setianingsih, S. H. as the Chair of the DIY Indonesian Women with Disabilities Association to be the moderator in this event, and Harya Rifky Pratama as the Museum Ambassador for the Sonobudoyo Museum as the host of this workshop.
In this workshop, Sonobudoyo Museum collaborated with the DIY Disability Committee, DIY Gerkatin, PUSBISINDO, DIY HWDI, Fajar Nugraha Special School for Autism / Fajar Nugraha Foundation and PLJ (JBI). On the first day of the Workshop, the workshop started with a discussion of "Museum Accessibility for People with Disabilities", with resource persons Ahmad Tosirin Anaessaburi, S. H., a representative from the Education Division of the DIY Disability Committee and Rizki Purna Adi, a representative from the Study and Cooperation Division of the DIY Disability Committee. It was continued on the second day with a discussion of "Towards a Disabled Friendly Museum" by inviting Mr. Salim from the Education Division of the DIY Disability Committee and Mrs. Yan Eka Ardianti, S. Kep ??as Deputy Principal of the Fajar Nugraha Special School for Autism, as resource persons. On the third day, the workshop participants were invited to learn sign language together with Lia Nur Rochma, S. Sos and Anggi Toberti from the Indonesian Sign Language Center Teacher (PUSBISINDO).
Workshop participants were not only given material on what accessibility for persons with disabilities needed, they were also invited to learn sign language together so that they could communicate simply with friends with disabilities. With this workshop, it is hoped that museums in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta, will be more caring and friendly with friends with disabilities. In addition, the addition of facilities for friends with disabilities also supports and invites friends with disabilities to visit museums and learn about the culture and history in museums.
