State Museum Sonobudoyo participated in the National Exhibition of Traditional Musical Instruments diversity Nusantara 2015. Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta State Museum exhibiting a collection of traditional musical instruments Rinding gumbeng. Rinding gumbeng the traditional art of Duren village of Gunung Kidul. The main instrument used is Rinding and gumbeng. Rinding is a kind genggong (mouth harp) are widely scattered across the archipelago, while gumbeng played by being hit and produce different sounds depending on the placement of padding strings. In the past, Rinding played by young women and mothers when completed harvest as gratitude to Dewi Sri who provide abundant harvests. It is now used for ceremonial Sadranan and welcome guests. Gumbeng Rinding instrument musical accompaniment consists of: Kecrek, Rinding, gumbeng and drum.
The exhibition was officially opened by the Governor of Papua recara, Mr. Lukas Enembe, S.IP at the State Museum Complex UPTD Papua province Waena Jayapura City (Tuesday, October 6, 2015). In his speech he said that the exhibition is expected to have a positive impact on the development of education and culture and to improve the welfare of Papuans. Exhibitions such as these can be used as a reference for visitors to the exhibition to get to know traditional musical instruments from all over the archipelago. It would also require the cooperation of all parties, government, private sector and the whole society to carry out the protection, development and utilization of cultural heritage for the welfare of all masyarakarat. As heir to the nation's culture should we have to continue to develop products to meet the needs and marketed in the country at an affordable price.
The exhibition will take place from 6 to 10 October 2015 in the State Museum Complex UPTD Papua province Waena Jayapura City. The exhibition is themed "Because Music, Identity Nation There In the frame of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, Papua Rise Towards Self and Prosperity". The exhibition was attended by the entire museum from all provinces in Indonesia.
