Traditional Cloth Exhibition Nusantara 2017

     State Museum Sonobudoyo following Traditional Cloth Exhibition Nusantara 2017 held at Lagaligo Museum South Sulawesi Province. This exhibition has been officially opened by the Secretary of South Sulawesi Province. H. Syahrul Yasin Limpo, S.H, M.Si, M.H represented by the Regional Secretary of South Sulawesi Province Ir. H. Abdul Latif, M.Si this morning (10/07/2017) at Lagaligo Museum Ujung Pandang Fortress Complex (Fort Roterdam) Jl. Ujung Pandang No. 1 Makassar. The theme of this exhibition is "Color - Warni Kain Traditional Archipelago Frame Kebhinnekaan Indonesia" which will take place on 10 - 15 July 2017. This exhibition is followed by museums throughout Indonesia province.

In this exhibition Sonobudoyo Museum exhibits a collection of batik cloth. The following batik cloth on display Sonobudoyo Museum:

1. Batik Cloth Truntum Motif                    

Traditional batik motif Truntum symbolizes the love that sprouted or bertautnya back love. Kono Truntum motif is created when the empress Susuhunan Paku Buwono III is forgotten by the husband. In the sadness because no longer noticed the husband (forgotten) the empress closer and always pray to God Almighty while batik and created the motives of the stars. Finally the diligence that is shorn with silence draws closer to the Creator is paying off. Love the king again blossomed and with a sense of love always look and pay attention to the empress batik motif. This motif is then named Truntum which means affinity of love.

2. Batik cloth Kasatrian Motif

The main building in this pattern is a rectangle with a sphere in the middle. The contents of the field consists of patterns of machetes / slopes of Islamic nuance, nuanced pattern of Buddhist nuance, traditional Hindu and traditional symbols such as kawung. In this motif contains the aesthetic values ??of unity, complexity and sincerity (greget), adapted to the present. This motif has the meaning of a message so that all the knights of the archipelago (the spirit of the leader) are obliged to protect the noble culture that exist in the earth. Usually worn as a cloth in ceremonial bridal ceremony before the two brides are seated in the bridal chairs.

3. Batik Cloth Sido Mukti Motif

Sido Mukti batik motif Yogyakarta style patterned cement. Sido means being, Mukti means Noble. This motif symbolizes the hope of life in the sufficiency and happiness of the innate world born. Usually worn by the bride and groom at qobul and qabul ceremony.

4. Batik Cloth Sido Asih Motif

Sido means being, Asih means dear, loving. This motif symbolizes the hope of living together in a sense of mutual love, love dikala likes and sorrows with taqwa depiction to God Almighty. As Sido Mukti, Sido Asih is also worn by the bride while the ritual and ijab qobul ceremony.
