Temporary Exhibition of Sonobudoyo Museum 2017

    The conversation about women is now massive again. Women are often defined as the inferior product of the feudal culture. His position was often misunderstood as a complement of the adam. The consequence is that women are placed in narrow spaces. Women are difficult to speak, women are dwarfed by knowledge, until women are limited in their rights. Such women are then called colonized by the culture.

    The journey of view of women then began to change. Culture does not mean anymore as a tool to contain its space. There is no stunting of his rights and knowledge. The boundaries between women and men began to ignite. Women are now on an equal footing. These women are those who are free at every step.     It is this cultural contradiction that then brings women as the spirit of the exhibition. Just as the durian mythology is the ideal female metaphor. Women as a combination of both saumya and kroda on certain conditions (DS Nugrahani). Furthermore, with the theme Pengilon: The Story of Women in Cultural Cross, the discussion about women is manifested in existing collections, such as darpana, vagina hundred keupan, sulul, to various tools that are feminine.

    Pengilon Exhibition: The Stories of Women in Cross Culture will open on December 5, 2017 and last until December 15, 2017. G.K.R. Mangkubumi and G.K.R.B.A.A. Paku Alam was directly involved in the opening ceremony. Both will jointly open the exhibition as well as a representation of female characters in the present.

    The journey during the exhibition is also supported by the activities of the feminine-themed, including: (1) meditative dance workshop titled sadyotkrãnti (8/12), (2) knitting (10/12), and (3) archipelago with mawastra crown (12) / 12).
